Scope of Application

A crowbar circuit is installed on the rotator side of the generator to provide bypass for the rotor side circuit. When grid system failure is detected and voltage drops occur, latch the double-fed induction generator excitation converter, and put into the rotor circuit’s bypass (energy release resistor) protection devices, achieving the role of limiting electric current going through the excited converter and rotor winding overvoltage, so as to maintain the generator’s fault ride-through.
